We have made a few changes to the calendar for the rest of the year.
Firstly this weekend we have a Working Bee/ Practice day at the Waimak Practice Area. As some of you know we have had a large amount of dirt (about 90 truckloads) dropped off down there and that needs to be moved about to make some of the concrete "sections" a little more "natural" and hopefully a bit more forgiving on bikes and bodies. This area is really shaping up to be a great asset to the club and is open to everyone all day everyday. So come along and help make it into something really specail that YOU can use.
The next change on the calendar is an extra trial in place of the July practice day down in Timaru. Mike Rowley is really keen to get us back down into his neck of the woods for another trial. Those of you who have travelled down there before will know what a great part of the country that is for trials. Not sure exactly where the event will be just yet as I think Mike might be looking into a different venue for this one. Where ever it is it will be well worth the effort to get down there for. I will be trying to co-ordinate a car pool to help cut costs so see me at the next trial if you would be able to take an extra bike and body or if you're looking for a lift.
The South Island Champs continue in August with rounds 3 & 4 in Blenhiem on the 13th/14th and finish here in Christchurch on the 10th/11th September. There has been a great deal of debate about us holding the event in Christchurch after all these Earthquakes but we have decided we can still do it. Our main concern was accommodation for our out of town guests but we have checked around and don't think it will be a problem. Worst case, Alan H can have them all stay at his place!!
Another event to look forward to will be our October practice Day. The Olliver family have offered to have the club up at the Non-stop park for the day and run some training with us. There will be something for all levels of ability so mark that in your diary. The timing couldn't be better, being only a couple of weeks out from the Nationals in Hamilton.
There is bound to be a few more changes in the calendar before the end of the year (mainly venues) so keep your eye on this website for more updates.
