Managers Report from 2012 Oceania Championship.

I had the pleasure of managing this team. It was a great honor to be with these great ambassadors representing MNZ competing in the

“2012 Smarter Than Smoking Australian Mototrials Championships” on 1st & 2nd September, in combination with the “2012 Oceania Championship” held near Perth WA.

The sections were rocky with some small loose rocks and some large grippy for the higher grades. There was also a section in a creek bed.

The weather was fine and warm on Saturday, about 20c both days.

On Sunday afternoon the weather suited the Kiwis better as it rained quite heavily in the afternoon

The Team:

Jake Whitaker, Open Solo

Blake Fox, Youth, 17 to 21 years

Liam Draper, Open Junior, 13 to 16 years

Stefanie Downes, Women,

Karl Clark, Masters, over 35 years

All the team performed exceptionally well to take out the Oceania Trophy 18 points 12.

The four Kiwi Boys all won their respective class's convincingly and our women rider did very well to get a comfortable 2nd to the very experienced Australian competitor Kristie McKinnon

The total points for each rider for the weekend:

 Open Solo:

1st: Jake Whitkaer        21

2nd Kyle Middleton      43

 Youth:

1st: Blake Fox               36

2nd: Jonathon Chellas   76

 Open Junior:

1st: Liam Draper          19

3rd: James Wager         35

 Women:

1st: Kristie McKinnon 38

2nd Stefanie Downes   45

 Masters:

1st: Karl Clark            25

2nd: Grant Morris       54

This means as well as the Oceania Trophy we also all brought home Australian TitleTrophies.

This made the Prize Giving Dinner very enjoyable, and was enjoyed by all the Kiwi Team and their small band of supporters.

The Banter with the Australians was great and the comments I received at the dinner as to how well  “Team Kiwi” had acted as a team all weekend was great to hear.

I would like to thank all the “MNZ 2012 Oceania Team” for such an awesome weekend. I throughly enjoyed my time with each and every one of you.

On behalf of the “MNZ 2012 Oceania team” we would like to thank MNZ for support to this team

to make this competition possible.

 Regards to all

Vicky Fox
