Club Trailer gets a facelift !

The club is pleased to announce that the club trailer has had new logos added by Mike and his people at BNS Design & Print Ltd.  If any company wants to add their advertising to the club Trailer then please get in touch with the committee via the Web site message system or phone.

The club would like to thank all riders that attended the second day of training at Western Valley.  The club would also like to extend its special thanks to Jules Huguenin for providing this training and to Matt Latham and family for letting us use this great property.

Canterbury provided a warm and sunny day for this training and both groups, Clubman/Beginners in the morning, and Intermediate/Expert in the afternoon enjoyed a challenging 3 hours of training, often well outside their normal “comfort” zone.

Training consisted of two sections being laid out by Jules who then proceeded to show how each section should be ridden, and what riding technique should be used to overcome each element of the section.  Mention should also be made at this point of the help Derek provided, not only as the MNZ official for the day but also as minder in those parts of the section that needed it.

The photos below do not cover the entire day, rather just the morning, if any other photos have been taken especially during the afternoon please pass them onto the club.

Jack Sheppard last made the trip to New Zealand in 2014. We are very fortunate that Jack takes the time to head out this way to share his knowledge. Jack 2011 Youth world champion & former top world round rider. This year is the first year he has not ridden the world championship circuit to concentrate more on riding in the UK British Championship.
Jack this year has had to do all his normal training on and off the bike as well working a full time job. It hasn’t seemed to have affected him to much with sitting in second position in the British Championship and taking a win a few weeks back over James Dabill. Also a very good 4th position in this years Scottish Six Day Trial.
If you get the chance to see Jack ride or get to one of his training days you won’t be disappointed. Jack is really down to earth and always up for a chat. Truly just one of the good guys

MTF NZ Moto Trials Championships

We are over the moon to announce that Jack Sheppard will be competing in NZ again at this years MTF NZ Moto Trials Championships!! Jack is currently running 2nd in the British Championship after 9 rounds, it is fantastic to have someone of Jack’s calibre coming to compete!!

Motorcycling New Zealand – General Manager moving onto new challenges

Motorcycling New Zealand –
General Manager moving onto new challenges

The Staff, Commissioners and Board of MNZ wish to personally thank our General Manager Vicky Hicks for her efforts and commitment over the past 13 years of which 6 were spent employed as our Operations Manager and 7 as our General Manager. Vicky has also previously worked for MNZ a further 9 years as an office administrator – making a total of 22 years working with us.

Vicky has decided to move on from MNZ as our General Manager and she leaves us to meet new and exciting challenges in her career.

Vicky’s diligent work sees her leaving MNZ in a stable financial and membership level position.

Vicky has been a stalwart of our organisation and she has helped steer us through thick and thin over the many years.

Vicky leaves us on excellent terms and we are all sad to see her go. We wish her the very best for her future.

Yours Sincerely

Glen Williams

Day 1 – Round 5

Day 1 - Round 5

First day at Trewin’s Birches Road property, great weather, dry conditions. Ten challenging sections Stephen Oliver and Kevin Pinfold both had perfect 0 scores only an earlier finishing time for Stephen gave him 1st place.

Day 2 – Round 6

Day 2 - Round 6

Second day at Trewin’s  Glenstrae Four Wheeler Adventures property, again great spring like weather, dry conditions, Derek and Glenn “tightened” up the sections as it was pegged in the wet the weekend before. Very tight battles in Intermediate, Clubman, and President.  Congratulations to Nick Oliver, Carl Robson, Stephen Oliver, Peter Hosking, John Lawton, Dylan Ball, and Paul Jackson for winning their respective grades.

Pioneer Stadium latest good news

Hi Everyone,

Most of you will not be aware that recently the management of the Pioneer Stadium have asked why the Pioneer Club has free access to their meeting rooms. This started the committee members on a hunt to find evidence that proved the club’s common belief that it had free access to these rooms due to the generous gift of monies to build the Pioneer Stadium which the club provided back in the late 1970’s
