TRIALS WEEK ADELAIDE 2011
September 22nd – October 4th.
After a couple of false starts, I am now well underway to organising a group trip to Adelaide this year. The approximate cost for the trip is $2900.00 plus airfares, food and spending money.
The cost includes airfreight for bikes Christchurch- Adelaide- Christchurch, rental cars and truck, accommodation, petrol, entry fees and competition insurance. This price is based on 12 riders taking bikes. I have not yet worked out a price for non-riders but will do so if required.
Airfares are currently running at about $850.00 and as was the case last time I will let you make your own arrangements for flights. Obviously food and spending money will be your own concern.
The plan will be for me and another couple of volunteers to travel to Adelaide a day earlier on the Wednesday and clear the bikes through customs etc. on Thursday. Everyone else arrives on Thursday and we travel to Mungeree for the South Australian Champs on the 24th & 25th September.
Then on Monday the 26th travel back to Nurioopta for the rest of the week. Tuesday will be a free day and Wednesday 28th is the South Australian Womens Cup & The Diener/Holmes sidecar Trophy Trial. (all other classes will also be run as per normal). Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be free days.
Sunday the 2nd and Monday the 3rd will be the Australian Championships. (Apparently Saturday is AFL Grand final day!?!)
Tuesday will be clean up and send bikes back day and we can all travel home Tuesday night or Wednesday.
Your bikes will have to be in Christchurch by September 18th which is also the weekend of the final round of the South Island Champs planned for Christchurch.
We are also planning to take “The Bus” up to Hamilton for the New Zealand Champs so we can take any bikes there for you to collect then.
Now the important bit. If you want to come I need to know now and I will require a $500.00 non-refundable deposit by the 12th of June. This will enable me to pay deposits and confirm bookings. (That deposit will only be refunded if insufficient numbers means we have to cancel the trip)
